KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Investment Bank (EIB) has announced plans to lend millions of Euros to build combined cycle gas power plants in Italy and Spain. It wants to lend up to Euro 200 million to municipal utility ASM Brescia SpA, to build a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant at Gissi, in Lombardy, northern Italy, and convert a nearby oil-fired electricity generating plant at Ponti sul Mincio to CCGT.
