EIB, EBRD PLAN EASTERN EUROPEAN WATER INVESTMENTS

BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to lend the Polish city of Gdansk up to Euro 91.36 million for boosting the quality and management of its dinking water supply systems and its wastewater collection and treatment networks. The money would help fund a planned Euro 202 million capital programme which would raise the city municipal water service's environmental and health standards to meet those demanded by European Union directives.
