THE FIRST detailed EU report on serious food and animal diseases that can harm or kill humans has been released by the European Food Safety Authority. This paper includes data on 2004 for pathogens, including salmonella, campylobacter, listeria, VTEC, mycobacteria, brucellosis, yersinia, trichinella, echinococcus, toxoplasma, cysticerci sarcocystis, rabies and e-coli. *http://www.efsa.eu.int/science/monitoring_zoonoses/reports/1277/zoonoses_report2.zip
