EFSA RECOMMENDS SMART RISK ASSESSMENTS FOR ENDOCRINE CHEMICALS

THE EUROPEAN Food Safety Agency (EFSA) has recommended a smart risk assessment approach for future European Union (EU) controls on ‘endocrine active’ chemicals used in consumer products, affecting human, animal and fish hormones. EFSA has concluded that not all these substances are damaging and hence be termed hazardous “endocrine disruptors”.
