EFSA RAISES ALARM ON NEW ADDITIVES TESTS -PROPOSES NEW METHODS

THE EUROPEAN Food Safety Authority has criticised Maximised Survey-derived Daily Intakes food safety tests, measuring average consumption of flavourings. The panel said by counting people never eating a product, this could "grossly underestimate the intake by regular consumers". It has proposed a modified Theoretical Added Maximum Daily Intake approach based on normal reported personal consumption levels.
