EFSA ADVISES ON PLANNED TESTS INTO ATYPICAL BSE

A LABORATORY protocol for studying unusual ‘atypical’ cases of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) has been developed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The European Union (EU) agency was asked to develop the guidance by the European Commission, which is concerned about gaps in knowledge of such outbreaks.
