ECJ TRADEMARK ROW TOSCA

THE EUROPEAN Court of Justice (ECJ) has rejected a bid by German perfume and soaps manufacturer Mülhens GmbH & Co. to protect its TOSCA trademark. It wanted to prevent Italian clothing and leather goods company Minoronzoni from registering its TOSCA BLU brand as a European Union-trademark, claiming consumers would be confused. Judges disagreed and dismissed Mülhens' action.
