ECJ THROWS OUT APPEAL FROM FREIGHT FORWARDERS CONTESTING EU CARTEL FINES

THE EUROPEAN Court of Justice (ECJ) has rejected appeals from six freight forwarder groups against fines imposed by the European Commission over clams that they participated in four international cartels between 2002 and 2007. The companies concerned are Ceva Freight (UK) (formerly EGL); Kühne + Nagel International; Schenker; Deutsche Bahn; Panalpina; UTi Worldwide, and associated subsidiaries.
