ECJ DECLARES ILLEGAL AUSTRIAN BOOK PRICE FIXING SYSTEM

BY KEITH NUTHALL A PRICE fixing system for German-language books imported into Austria has been declared illegal by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) today (April 30). Its judges have concluded that it breaks European Union (EU) treaty commitments on the freedom of movement of goods, which the Austrian government must apply.
