The food and drink industry has been advised to take special care that it is complying with the European Union (EU) chemical control system REACH, following a specialist briefing held at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) HQ in Helsinki on March 6. Experts addressed the next registration stage of REACH, where companies making or importing chemicals used in the European Union (EU) of small volumes (1 tonne a year and above) must register these substances by May 31, 2018.
