GOVERNMENTS from eastern Europe and central Asia were to be hauled over the coals this week at a United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) ministerial meeting in Geneva (Tues 19 Feb) for causing transport bottlenecks through infrastructure under-investment. A meeting of transport ministers was to discuss how poor roads and under-equipped border crossings are hampering economic growth.
