Rapidly increasing continental air traffic has fuelled intense competition among east African countries in constructing and upgrading airport infrastructure. Indeed, investments could exceed USD1.7 billion in the next three years, according to Andrew Luzze, the executive director of the East African Business Council.The new expansion is driven by the rising demand for domestic and international air travel, cargo movements and the need to capture global tourism market share.
