EASA GUIDANCE TO ADD TO OPERATOR DUTIES TO PREVENT LAPTOP FIRES

THE EUROPEAN Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has released guidance to airlines on preventing fires from laptop computers and other personal electronic devices, increasing the responsibilities of flight managers. The guidance says that where operators have to place such devices separately in the hold, they should be stored away from similar electronic items and away from other potentially dangerous goods.
