BY KEITH NUTHALLEUROPEAN Union enterprise Commissioner Erkki Liikanen has warned that the European Commission might table legislation to force car manufacturers to include the latest intelligent and e safety devices in their cars, if there is a low take up of these technologies. Speaking in Brussels, he said: "Experience shows that if you try to legislate for new technologies, most of the time it fails. But the moment may come when measures become obligatory."
