BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Commission has launched another competition inquiry over gas-electricity mergers, this time in Denmark, maybe leading to it blocking state-owned gas incumbent DONG's plans to control two Danish power producers and two suppliers. DONG wants to absorb Elsam and Energi E2, generators for west and east Denmark respectively, and suppliers Københavns Energi Holding A/S and Frederiksberg Elnet A/S, serving Copenhagen and nearby Frederiksberg.
