DOGS CAN DETECT OVARIAN CANCER SAY SWEDISH SCIENTISTS
July 1st, 2008 BY MONICA DOBIE RESEARCH from the University Hospital in Göteborg, Sweden has found that working dogs can detect and distinguish the scent of ovarian cancer over other types of gynaecological cancers. A study, whose results have been published in the academic journal Integrative Cancer Therapies, was led by György Horvath MD, PhD, and included colleagues at working dog clubs in Sweden and Hungary who trained canines to distinguish different types and grades of ovarian cancer, including borderline tumours.
