BY RICHARD HURSTSOUTH African diamond company De Beers has announced that it is offering a fourth small mining contract at its diamond mines in Kimberley. Currently the mines make use of three small mining contracting companies treating dumps to extract other minerals - such as silica - on a profit share basis. The fourth opportunity will involve the processing as well as treatment of dump material and will be reserved for small mining contractors.
