DANISH PIG SLAUGHTERING DECLINES IN 2014

Denmark slaughtered around 250,000 less pigs in 2014 compared to 2013, according to new data from the Danish Agriculture and Food Council (DAFC/ Landbrug & Fødevarer) based on figures supplied by the Danish Pig Producers association (DPP/ Danske Svineproducenter). In total, Danish meat processing companies slaughtered 18.93 million pigs in 2014. This represented a -1.3 per cent drop on the 19.2 million pigs slaughtered in 2013.
