DAIRY REFORM ROW

EUROPEAN Commission proposals to reform the EU's dairy common market organisation have been attacked by MEP's and industry representatives at a European Parliament agriculture committee hearing. Speakers claimed that the proposed additional one per-cent increase in the milk quota and 28 per-cent cut in dairy intervention prices "would undermine the quota system, flood the market and drive many farmers to the wall."
