COPPER PRODUCTION BOUNCES BACK IN BOTSWANA

Botswana looks set to boost southern African copper supplies with Khoemacau Copper Mining Pty. (Ltd), a subsidiary of a US-based company, Cupric Canyon Capital, planning to open a mine in the country’s Kalahari copper belt. The planned mine has an initial annual production of 62,000 tonnes of copper (and 1.9 million ounces of silver), with managers hoping to increase yearly production to over 100,000 tonnes of copper and three million ounces of silver.
