COOP PRESSES FOR MORE AMBITION OVER ‘WELL-BEING’ MEAT AND LIVESTOCK LABEL PROPOSAL

Supermarket chain Coop Danmark is pressing the Danish government to toughen standards required by a proposed ‘well-being’ standard and labelling scheme covering retailed meat and livestock products made with appropriate animal welfare. The system is under discussion between retailers, manufacturers and government officials.
