BY KEITH NUTHALL A PUBLIC hearing will be staged this Wednesday (11-7) by the European Commission, to ask the transport industry to assess its plans to force reductions in CO2 emissions from vehicles in Europe. Brussels wants to impose an average 120 g/km CO2 emission from new cars by 2012. This has angered the European Union (EU) automobile manufacturer sector especially, and the Commission seems keen to mollify its critics.
