CODEX PLANS STANDARD ON CAN CONTAMINATION

GLOBAL food standards agency Codex Alimentarius is developing maximum levels of contamination of tin in canned beverages. The rules have been drafted by the Codex committee on food additives and contaminants, with the aim of formally adopting them by 2008. Furthermore, the committee has announced that it wants to develop a code of practice for preventing Ochratoxin A contamination in wine.
