US consumers could be closer to seeing meat from cloned animals on their dinner tables. The country's National Academy of Sciences has issued a report that found the cloning of farm animals less troublesome than biotechnology innovations to manipulate the genes of fish because animal cloning is currently based on natural models and so would not alter genetic makeup of farmed species.
