CHINA’S TEXTILE MACHINERY-MAKERS FORECAST TO COPE WELL WITH US’ NEWLY-PROPOSED PUNITIVE DUTIES

Industrial analysts in China believe that the country’s growing textile machinery industry will be able to cope with punitive duties that have been propose by the USA over its complaints about alleged intellectual property thefts.
The US Trade Representative (USTR) has listed 1,300 tariff lines of China-made exports that could be hit with 25% duties, including numerous textile machinery-related items, such as knitting, weaving and spinning machines and finishing equipment, plus parts.
