CHINA VIETNAM SHOE ANTI-DUMPING DUTY

BY ALAN OSBORN EUROPEAN Union (EU) trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson has formally proposed slapping anti-dumping duties on imports of leather footwear from China and Vietnam into the EU. He said the European Commission had found "compelling evidence" that shoes from these two countries were being sold at below production costs which is against world trade rules. Mr Mandelson recommended duties of 19.4% for China and 16.8% for Vietnam, phased in over five months, but this will have to be approved by trade ministers of the 25-member EU next month. ...
