CHARLOTTE AIRPORT TO BUILD NEW RUNWAY IN MAJOR EXPANSION PROJECT
August 1st, 2012 BY LEAH GERMAIN CHARLOTTE Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, has announced plans to build a new 12,000-foot parallel runway. The planned construction of CLT's fifth runway will allow the airport to land three planes at once while one runway would be used exclusively for take offs. The construction of the new runway should also reduce noise for nearby residents.
