CHANGE IN EU GSP SYSTEM TO REMOVE AMMONIUM SULPHATE DUTIES

THE IMPORT of textile finishing chemical ammonium sulphate into the European Union (EU) will become duty free from January 1, 2014, for the 89 countries still covered by the EU's reformed Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) on that date. The chemical is among 23 new tariff lines given this status because of concerns about the availability of supplies. The countries concerned include China and India.
