CEYLON STEEL CORPORATION UNVEILS MAJOR EXPANSION

BY MUNZA MUSHTAQ, IN COLOMBO A major expansion plan has been announced by the Ceylon Steel Corporation Ltd, which is to build the country's first galvanized iron (GI) pipe mill with a manufacturing capacity of 3,500-4,000 metric tonnes per month. The company said it also plans to establish a new rolling mill with a capacity of manufacturing 20,000 metric tonnes of steel per month and a wire mesh mill.
