CANADA’S UNIFOR ANNOUNCES STRIKE AT GM AFTER TALKS DEADLINE PASSES

Canadian automakers union Unifor last night announced strike action at General Motors plants in Canada, claiming the company had refused to accept a pattern agreement reflecting the deal struck with Ford last month (September). The union said the strike includes all its GM members at the Oshawa Assembly Complex and its CCA Stamped Products plant, plus the St. Catharines Powertrain Plant and Woodstock Parts Distribution Centre – all in Ontario.
