CAMBODIA’S apparel sector – of critical importance to its national economy - is struggling to retain workers. The industry is experiencing a massive 44% annual labour turnover - meaning nearly half of its workforce quit jobs every year, an industry expert has noted, assessing data from a March (2017) survey. The problem is leaving the sector with a chronic skills shortage, said Cambodia country representative of the US-based Asia Foundation, a non-profit organisation trying to improve lives across Asia, Silas Everett.
