BRUSSELS WARNS OF DRAWSTRING RISK TO CHILD CLOTHING CONSUMERS

THE EUROPEAN Union's (EU) RAPEX consumer alert service has reported Germany has banned China-made Kik 'Homer Simpson' socks from its shops because they contains 287 mg/kg azo-dyes, well above the permitted 30 mg/kg limit under the EU's REACH regulation. Meanwhile, Bulgaria has also banned China-made Yunipri Christmas socks over excess azo-dyes.
