BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Union's (EU) RAPEX consumer alert service has reported a spate of sales bans and withdrawals of clothes with drawstrings, because of concerns that they could strangle wearers. Last week RAPEX publicised sales bans in Bulgaria of China-made J.S.J. Kid's children's jackets over hood drawstring concerns, breaching European standards.
