BRUSSELS TO ASSESS EU-WIDE PLASTIC BAG BAN

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Commission is to assess whether a European Union (EU)-wide ban on plastic bags is feasible and a good idea in principle, an official has told Plastics & Rubber Weekly. A spokesperson for the Commission's environment directorate general Monica Westeren said: "There's a willingness to look into the issue. The next question is what are we going to do?"
