BRUSSELS PROPOSES LOOSER PASSENGER DATA SWAP RULES

THE EUROPEAN Commission has tabled a reformed European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation which would allow the creation of ‘binding corporate rules’ to authorise data transfers between different corporations working together in a formal agreement. “This could cover, for example, the transfer of personal data between different flight carriers belonging to the same airline alliance,” said a note from the EU executive.
