BRUSSELS PLANS HEAVY ANTI-DUMPING DUTIES FOR EU IMPORTS OF CHINESE ALUMINIUM FOIL
February 3rd, 2013 The European Commission has asked European Union (EU) ministers to impose heavy definitive anti-dumping duties of between 14.2% and 35.6% on Chinese imports into the EU of certain aluminum foil rolls. The product in question is foil of a thickness of 0.007 mm or more but less than 0.021 mm, not backed, in rolls of 10 kg or less.This follows a Brussels inquiry into allegations of significant dumping of Chinese cut-priced foil on EU markets, which concluded the product was being sold at 45.6% of cost price, as calculated by EU anti-dumping rules.
