BRUSSELS PLACES WATER PRICING PRIORITIES AT CENTRE OF MOVES TO TACKLE WATER SHORTAGES

BY ALAN OSBORN The European Commission is placing water pricing policies at the forefront of moves to tackle the growing problem of water shortage in the EU, officials confirmed at a conference hosted by the European Water Forum in the European Parliament on 16 April. Andrea Tilche from the Commission's directorate general said Brussels was bringing together 16 research institutions to determine correct water pricing policies under the heading of the AQUAMONEY project.
