BRUSSELS GRANTS PROTECTION TO POLISH BISCUITS

THE EUROPEAN Commission has granted European Union (EU) geographical indication protection to the traditional Polish biscuits 'Andruty kaliskie'. In future these sweet bakery products cannot be sold under this name in the EU unless they are made by specific traditional methods within their historic home region - the central Poland city of Kalisz. The biscuits are round thin wafers.
