BRUSSELS FUNDS RESEARCH INTO NON-FERROUS METAL CAR SHREDDER, ALUMINIUM AND BATTERY RECYCLING

The European Commission has announced funding for three major research projects designed to promote innovation in the non-ferrous metals sector. They will be launched on Wednesday (Nov 6) and funded by the EU’s outgoing Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7), which ends next month (December 31). One key project is called ‘ShredderSort’, where the European Union (EU) will be spending Euro EUR3.38 million on developing a new shredder screening out non-ferrous metals from automobiles during scrapping.
