BRUSSELS COULD DEMAND REPAYMENT OF GDYNIA AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT SUBSIDY

THE EUROPEAN Commission has questioned the legality of Euro EUR52 million’s public subsidies to convert Gdynia-Kosakowo airport from a military to a civilian facility. The money was paid by local authorities of Gdynia and Kosakowo to operating company Port Lotniczy Gdynia-Kosakowo Sp. z.o.o. Brussels has opened a formal inquiry, saying the airport maybe unviable, making the payments illegal under EU state aid rules.
