BRUSSELS APPROVES POLAND’S LODZ AIRPORT SUBSIDIES

POLISH government plans to subsidise the development of Lodz airport with Euro 2.5 million (Zloty 9.7 million) have been approved by the European Commission. Warsaw wants to expand the state-owned regional airport's capacity, increasing its infrastructure, (for instance installing a fire fighting team) while improving security systems. Brussels approved the funding under its state aid controls, deeming the expansion would not distort European Union civil aviation markets.
