BRUSSELS APPROVES FRANCO-GERMAN CAR HIRE MERGER

THE EUROPEAN Commission has approved the acquisition by Eurazeo, the French owner of the Europcar and Vanguard car rental services, of APCOA Parking Holdings - a German company that provides parking and other services to car hire companies. Brussels concluded that despite the companies both working in the car hire sector, competition for EU fleet managers and private motorists would not be damaged.
