BRITISH GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES CLEAN CAR WEBSITE

BY KEITH NUTHALL

THE UK Department of Transport has launched a website 'Best on CO2' designed to help motorists choose cars that emit low levels of carbon dioxide. The site gives information about CO2 emissions by model, for instance that a Hyundai Santa Fe emits 191g/km, while a Toyota Land Cruiser pumps out 238g/km. Junior transport minister Jim Fitzpatrick said: "By choosing the car with the most fuel efficient engine in its class, drivers could reduce their engine CO2 emissions by 24%." *http://www.dft.gov.uk/ActOnCO2/?q=best_on_co2_rankings
