BY MONICA DOBIEPOSTMENOPAUSAL women who consume even moderate amounts of alcohol may face an increased risk of breast cancer, according to a comprehensive US study. Research conducted at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Harvard School of Public Health indicated that postmenopausal women who consumed less than one glass of wine or beer a day were more likely to develop breast cancer than women who did not consume alcohol.
