BOILER REPLACEMENT

BY ALAN OSBORNSCOTLAND'S Dundee City Council is to receive Pounds 4.5 million over the next18 months in a novel European Union-funded project to install energy efficient boilers in 2,500 council homes. The deal is part of a nation-wide scheme financed by theEuropean Investment Bank and Co-operative Bank. The EIB is making available Pounds 20 million to the British bank which will supplement the cash on a 50-50 basis for loans to other local authorities, housing associations and National Health Service Trusts.
