BY MONICA DOBIEENVIRONMENTALISTS have raised concerns about a plan to tap the largest gold deposit and the second largest copper deposit in North America, saying it could pollute the headwaters of a valuable local salmon fishery. The USA's Northern Dynasty Mines Inc. is currently working on feasibility study for a two square mile open-pit gold and copper mine, called Pebble, near Bristol Bay, Alaska.
