THE BATA Shoe Organisation has been invited to take part in the Calcutta Leather Complex, the West Bengal press has reported. State chief minister Buddadeb Bhattacharjee has said that Bata would be welcome to take advantage of the complex's exporting and manufacturing facilities for leather goods. Thomas Bata, group chairman, has told local newspapers that his company was considering the offer.
