ASYLUM APPLICATIONS

REGULATIONS have been approved by the European Union (EU) Council of Ministers for justice and home affairs that lay down clear rules for deciding which EU national government must examine an asylum application, when the would-be refugee has travelled through a number of Member States. The aim is to prevent governments moving applicants around the EU until one is willing to grant or finally refuse asylum.
