ANGLO-GERMAN RAIDS TARGET EMISSIONS TRADING CAROUSEL SCAM

BY KEITH NUTHALL BRITISH and German customs and police officers have arrested 47 suspects in an alleged carousel fraud network exploiting the European Union's (EU) emissions trading regime. UK authorities arrested 22; there were 25 arrests in Germany. Police in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands and Portugal, plus non-EU Norway have assisted inquiries.
