AIRPORTS BOTH CONTROL POINTS AND CONDUITS FOR SWINE FLU

AIRLINES and airports are perfect carriers for infectious diseases and have helped swine flu to spread around the world within a matter of weeks, to the extent that it is now classified as the first pandemic of the 21st century. The statistics show the task facing airport gateways: World Health Organisation (WHO) spokesman Peter Cordingley singled out air travel as an easy way the virus could spread, noting that the WHO estimates that up to 500,000 people are on planes at any time.
